New Functionality Enables Merchants to Sell Any Combination of Digital and Physical Music, Videos, Games, Software and More
OKLAHOMA CITY, Aug. 7, 2013 – LightCMS, a NetSuite (NYSE: N) company that provides a powerful, yet easy-to-use cloud-based content management system (CMS), today announced the availability of Digital Goods, a new feature that allows LightCMS customers to leverage the LightCMS platform to sell or offer free downloads of digital goods such as music, software, games, videos and more. The addition of Digital Goods to the LightCMS platform builds upon its existing capabilities for the online sale of physical goods and allows an online merchant to offer any combination of the two, such as offering a music album as a digital download, a shipment of a physical CD, or a combination of both.
In keeping with its strategy of sophisticated simplicity, Digital Goods offers powerful functionality that's easy enough for even web novices to use. LightCMS customers can add digital products to their online store with just a few clicks. They can also edit and manage those products through LightCMS' familiar store management interface.

When a customer purchases digital goods online, LightCMS fulfills the customer's order automatically by delivering download links via email and on the customer's online order receipt. In addition, if a merchant ever updates a digital asset, the system automatically emails previous purchasers to notify them that a new version is available for download. LightCMS also allows sites to generate "free download" links for use in promotions. These single-use links can be emailed to customers and their usage history can be tracked via the LightCMS store management interface.
